Begin your journey with an arrival day at Kilimanjaro, then immerse yourself in the beauty and challenge of Mount Meru. Day by Day Details
Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transfer to your hotel in Arusha. Relax and prepare for the exciting trek ahead. Enjoy a welcome briefing with your guide, who will provide essential information and answer any questions.
Day 2: Arusha to Miriakamba Hut
Depart from Arusha after breakfast and drive to Momella Gate in Arusha National Park. Begin your trek through lush forests and open grasslands, spotting wildlife such as giraffes and buffalo along the way. Reach Miriakamba Hut (2,514 meters) and settle in for the night.
Day 3: Miriakamba Hut to Saddle Hut
Continue your ascent, enjoying panoramic views and unique flora. The trail becomes steeper as you approach Saddle Hut (3,570 meters). After lunch, you have the option to hike Little Meru for acclimatization and spectacular sunset views.
Day 4: Summit Day and Descent to Miriakamba Hut
Start your summit attempt around midnight, navigating through rocky paths and narrow ridges. Reach the summit of Mount Meru (4,566 meters) at sunrise, marveling at the breathtaking views. Descend back to Saddle Hut for a brief rest, then continue to Miriakamba Hut.
Day 5: Miriakamba Hut to Arusha
Descend through lush forests and grasslands, returning to Momella Gate. Drive back to Arusha, where you can relax and reflect on your incredible journey. Transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure or extend your stay in Tanzania.
